BSDB Background

The Billy Steel Dark Blues (BSDBs) were originally an informal grouping of Dundee fans who met in the Fisherman’s Tavern in Broughty Ferry for a pint (or Drambuie) before home matches. At the start of the 1999/2000 season the Supporters Club was formally constituted with the aim of the Club to be family friendly and support DFC both financially and spiritually.

The formation of the BSDBs was timed just right for the resultant upsurge in support that was to take place at the end of that season with the commencement of the Bonetti era. For many the highlight of that period will be the 2003 Scottish Cup run when the BSDBs took over 300 fans to the ultimately fruitless final against Rangers.

The current level of BSDB membership makes them one of the larger Dundee F.C. Supporters groups.
